I received an email from John today, he says, "I have been trying oils for some time. The lady in the red blouse is a pretty accurate copy of an easy but boring painting. The rocky water I spent a long time on but not very happy. "

Thank you for sending these John, I like the lady in red (sounds like a Chris De Burgh song) and think that the diagonal of the foreground prevents the composition from being boring, you have also painted it very well.
I think the rocky stream is a difficult scene to capture but your painting has given it movement that works well and the dark rocks add drama.
